FAQs
-
A properly built gravel driveway can last 20–30 years with routine maintenance. The key factors are a solid base, correct grading, and high-quality gravel. We build every driveway with longevity in mind to reduce potholes, washouts, and sinking.
-
Most driveways only need top-dressing every 1–3 years, depending on traffic and weather conditions. Areas with heavy vehicle use or steep slopes may need more frequent touch-ups.
-
Not if it’s built correctly. Earthstone driveways are graded to direct water away from the driving surface and use compacted layers to prevent erosion. For areas with waterflow issues, we can add drainage solutions to protect the driveway.
-
Class 5 gravel is the most common option because it compacts tightly and creates a firm, stable surface. Depending on the look and performance you want, we can also install crushed granite, recycled asphalt, or decorative aggregate.
